I had to deliver my first baby @ 34 wks on hospital bedrest. How likely will I have to do this again with my second pregancy? Also since I delivered a healthy baby the first time, is there a chance I’ll miscarry this time or will I likely have another healthy pregnancy?

There is a huge controversy on whether or not a parenting license should be put into place in our society. With this license, the government would be able to ensure that a newborn child is arriving into a safe environment. So, what would the three most important requirements be?
NOTE: I am not looking for an opinion about whether or not you agree with this, just what you think important guidelines will be.

My cousin is due to have her son on 13th april and her mum is arranging a baby shower for 4th. I am planning to make a baby hamper with my mum. She has knitted some mittens, cardigans and hats and i was thinking of putting in some muslin squares, toiletries, booties etc. What else should we include in the hamper?

33f, not quite 5 weeks pregnant and have this overwhelming fear of miscarriage, even though this is my first pregnancy. My first appointment is not for another month. I have an urge to constantly take pregnancy tests to make sure the baby is still there. Does everyone feel this way, or do I seriously have issues?

Please don’t say anything mean to stress me out. I really want this baby.

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for 6 months without luck. This month my period is due in one week and my breasts are so sore that I can’t sleep on my front. Could this be the first signs that I am pregnant this time? Its a bit early to waste a pregnancy test. What other signs might appear? I will get a pregnancy test if my pass my period date but that is not for another week.

How do I stop and not think about if other moms are judging me? Parents sit in the gym on the sidelines as our kids play at an indoor playground, but think that when parents are sitting across the gym from me, that they are staring and judging my parenting skills! Aaahhhh. I know it’s unrealistic, but do others feel like other moms are judging your parenting skills?

Between parenting books, discussions on here, magazines, tv shows, and the many other areas in which parenting is the subject, it appears many people seem to believe there is usually one true way to raise children, their way.

How many parents, if they opt to breast feed are tolerable to those who bottle feed?

How many parents who have their children supervised nearly every moment of the day are tolerable to those who feel comfortable leaving them unsupervised, despite the age?

How many parents who feel their children must be walked to the bus stop/school are tolerable to those who opt to allow them to walk on their own?

How many parents who feel that scheduled sports/activities are certain this is the only way to keep children away from the evils of youth (drugs, alcohol, smoking, sex, etc) are tolerable of those who do not feel so compelled to follow suite?

Etc.

I am 30 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and going to have a baby shower soon. I did precious moments with my daughter, I just don’t know what a good baby shower theme for a boy is. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have examples of the various types of parenting? How would you classify your parents? Your friends? Yourself?
